At Arrow, he was instrumental in shaping cybersecurity solution offerings, driving secure provisioning services, developing PSA Certified reference designs, and architecting complex IoT/IIoT systems for smart city, logistics, and industrial applications. Specializing in Defense in Depth (DiD) principles, Héctor founded IEES Ltd. to provide expert consultancy, guiding organizations through the entire product lifecycle to build robust, secure-by-design systems compliant with critical regulations like the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), RED, and IEC 62443-4-x.

Steve Sutherland has worked across multiple sectors of the UK electronics industry, starting his career in scientific instrumentation and from there working for several companies and consultancies on products ranging from particle accelerators to industrial inkjet printers, from mobile phones and electron-beam lithography to electronic toys and lawnmowers.
His wide-ranging experience gives him a broad outlook, bringing together skills and techniques learned across many different products, from one-offs to mass production.
He has worked as part of large multi-discipline teams and also as sole technical authority for many projects, working as a systems architect, project manager, electronics designer and firmware engineer – often all for the same product.
